I am new to this forum and to the Mariott rewards program. I am a member of Gold Hilton Honors but recently stayed at a Mariott hotel because of a conference that was happening there. I liked the hotel and service I received and might give more of my business to Mariott, even though I am not dissatisfied with Hilton.
- do reward stays count towards promotions like the current Mega Bonus 2012 and towards the Status level?
- on my recent stay I was upgraded to the concierge level. I made the reservations with my Amex Platinum card and was part of a meeting. Did I get lucky or what caused the upgrade?
