Charleston, SC   Renaissance

Just  spent 2 nights in Charleston, SC at the Renaissance.    It is just about 3 years old and had been converted from the old Greyhound Bus Terminal -- amazing!

It is located just off  King Street in the heart of the city, walking distance to most everything.    The accommodations and the staff were terrific.  They acknowledged my gold (status (don't know if we were upgraded) and shown to a beautiful room.    Certainly did not need anything nicer.    There is no executive lounge so we were comped for full breakfasts in their dining room.    We were checked in at 11 am and were given late checkout if we needed it.  The little touches were nice such as Wall Street  Journal  as well as USA Toda &, umbrella in the room,    I am definitely sensing what they are doing with the Renaissance brand - making it into a "hip" classy service-oriented chain.

Could have easily stayed more than 2 nights in Charleston as there is so much to see & do but we are now in Hilton Head (Marriott TS) for a week of golf.  Great restaurants in both places.    So much to do - so little time!
