After I called the PP line today, I found out a new tidbit of information about posting of points and nights. If you book through a conference (and you must pay for it yourself, which I did), the postings will not happen until usually ten days after the stay or whenever the conference forwards its info to Marriott. Fortunately, the Customer Service Representative called the Chicago Marriott and located my file and manually posted the nights and the points.
But what difference should it make in terms of posting that you've booked through a conference if you've paid yourself, checked in with your Rewards card and checked out at the end? The rewards number is on the bill.
PS - After I tried to post this and was asked for location I got the following error message:
