If you have traveled to this area, where did you stay? We are interested in properties either within or outside of the parks. All advice is welcomed.
Also, if you have stayed in Calgary, which Marriott property would you recommend?
Don't know Calgary, but had a great time staying in Kalispell. The drive from Missoula was especially beautiful in the Fall. To see Flathead Lake, and all of the wildlife always made "Big Sky", a special treat for me. There were all kinds of "Rustic" places to stay and enjoy yourself.
The Fairmont in Glacier is ouststanding. We enjoyed the Marriott in downtown Calgary but it's been years since we stayed there,
Don't forget to visit Jasper National Park, (Named after you know who?,)!
Jasper100 NP, as I recall, one of the great ones!
I think that will be a highlight of the trip!
Make sure you get plenty of pictures to share, I plan to go there on Christmas 2013!
Always wanted to see Lake Louise and Banff. Airline to Europe will be too much, and I can always take the train. Plan to go West to Vancouver after Christmas, 2013!
My husband is already talking about specific locations where he wants to take pictures. Thank goodness for digital cameras--I bet he will take 1500-2000 pictures a week!
We were in Vancouver for 3 days this past summer following an Alaskan cruise. We loved it and hope to go back someday. I'm sure you know about the Marriott there.
In the days oif film cameras I used three rolls on one road, The Going to the Sun Road in Glacier.
Make sure you take in the Bald Eagles roosting at Lake McDonald, if you are there in the Fall. It is very spectacular!
Wish I had pictures to share, but had no digital camera at the time.
google the parks then check images--a spectacular bunch are there
