Just back from a family trip to Barcelona, where my family enjoyed two (exquisite) rooms (with a jaw dropping beach view) in the Ritz Carlton's Hotel Arts. I'll admit, I was skeptical when I heard that we could use our points at Ritz Carlton, but my first experience was a winner. Granted, it was a lot of points, but we got the week we wanted at the hotel we wanted; we enjoyed adjoining rooms that were splendid - one was a huge corner room with an astounding amount of glass. (Frankly, I was stunned that we were not relegated to the smaller rooms with less dramatic views.) We even enjoyed free internet.
The hotel is a gem - special kudos for the pool, the art (including the skyline altering "fish"), the beach, the staff, the flowers, concierge services, etc.
One again, Marriott has ensured my loyalty for many years to come. Growing up with family vacations in wonderful hotels in, among others, Berlin, Hong Kong, London, Paris, and Toronto - even Niagra (OK, the "Falls Suite" was amazing) - have even turned my two sons into walking advertisements for Marriott Rewards!
