Is the Marriott Marquis part of the service industry or the I am doing you a favor industry?
Yesterday I arrived to New York for a weekend gateway and I had booked a room at the Marriott Marquis hotel which I have previously stayed at before. The checking process was seamless, but very impersonal because I kept being told how sold out they were on Saturday. I proceeded to go into my room to find a bathroom that truly made me feel like I was staying in a motel 8. Disappointed I spoke with the front desk supervisor who moved me to another room in which the coating of the paining was not pealing off, but the carpet and bathroom are dated.
I get that this is a very busy hotel, however there used to be a Marriott standard, which I feel is being watered down. I am moving to another property today because of their lack of customer attention to loyal members. It’s truly disappointing as I always had good memories at the Marquis growing up.
