Confirmed Suite Night Award not provided by hotel

Has it ever happened to anyone that after you apply your Suite Night Award for a stay, you receive confirmation from Marriott that it was secured but then the hotel doesn't assign it?


It occurred to me during a family vacation at the Residence Inn Breckenridge, CO last week. The front desk couldn't care less. After calling Marriott I was given 10,000 points for the trouble but I'm still in the process of trying to get those SNA back.
