After ShopMyWay Rewards, Marrioty opened its Marriott Rewards MORE portal on November 1, 2017 and allowed members to earn points shopping or use points for purchases at those same merchants (at a paltry .37 cpp). Originally it had some good stores, including Amazon. However, just five days later, on November 6, 2017, Marriott dropped Amazon, Best Buy. and other common shopping websites, but continued the portal with only a dozen or 2 dozen merchants participating. It was by no means the best shopping portal. Then on November 15, 2018 they shut the whole thing down.
However, there are two ways you could still obtain Marriott Points for shopping online. You could use either United's portal or Chase's portal and then transfer the points you earn to Marriott. I say "could" because both of these transfers are at one-to-one and neither is generally considered a very good value.
