Gtd No Show

So I was a no show for the first night of a multiple night stay due to flights being delayed, and arrived at the hotel around 9:30 am. I was told my room was no longer available and I still had to pay for the no show.  When I worked in the industry the rule was if you showed up before the check-out time, they still had to give you your room, since you essentially paid for the first night.



Does Marriott have a policy?
