I have read on a post in flyer talk that it may be possible to get credit for a stay when that stay is billed to a master account by charging something to the room for each day of the stay. For example, room service would show a charge and thereby you would get credit for the stay - making it a qualifying stay. I'm curious if others have experience with this.
I suppose this would also be true for stays that are booked through a third party as well.
Personally, I find it ironic that a stay in which you use points counts as a stay - but a stay that is actually revenue-generating - is not. This is especially frustrating if you are on a business trip (this is mostly conferences that I am experiencing this) but not getting credit for being brand loyal.
