Need some recommendations on best cat 5 hotel in New Orleans please.Have stayed at Sheraton and Westin and they're just ok.I was looking at Renaissance warehouse b/c it has a Peloton. Thoughts?
I have stayed at the JW in NOLA. It was very nice, was within walking distance to everything (centrally located) and has a very nice (2 level) Concierge Lounge. That is my recommendation.
We recently stayed at the Ren Pere Marquette due to location for a conference, had several relatively minor problems for which we were given points and eventual resolution, but overall we were not impressed and likely would not stay there again. It is in the French Quarter and is a Cat 5, but we did not have time to check out the fitness room or most amenities and there is nothing like a CL.
Maybe someone who knows the NOLA area very well might be able to give some great advice, what ya got to say seatexan?
blueskyroady, we stayed at the Boutique Hotel French Quarter | Renaissance New Orleans Pere Marquette in 2016 - loved it! They treated us very well - we negotiated all Elite upgrades at check-in! We chose Pere Marquette because it is a quick walk to the French Quarter but outside of the chaos (we ended up not liking the French Quarter at night). The weather was incredible in November when we visited so we were outside exploring the whole time we were there - peeked at Fitness Center but don't remember anything except it was surrounded by windows.
In 2016, Pere Marquette had a pantry with drinks and snacks hidden behind a locked door in the bar, served breakfast and had a per person credit for evening appetizers in the bar for Elites. The current photos with the windowed dining room look much different than I remember so it has been through a remodel since we stayed. If I'm reading correctly, it appears that there is no longer food service in the evening.
That said, when we chose 'Naulins, we planned to enjoy dinner-out in the evening - didn't need traditional Concierge Lounge service. Location, location, Marriott C
