I'm looking at Montreal for the US Thanksgiving break. I've spent quite a bit of time in the Toronto area and a visit to Ottawa was wonderful, but never Montreal. It, along with Quebec City have been bucket list items for some time.
It appears to be seasonally cold, as one would suspect, but hovering over freezing. No problem there. The idea is public transport from and to YUL along with walking a lot in the city...doable? Avoiding a rental car and parking fees is a bonus.
I'm hoping for thoughts about activities. Do they decorate and spice up for Christmas prior to December 1st?
Also any opinions for the Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain vs Le Meridien Versailles. I see the Marriott appears closer to "the action" and has a lounge. Both are priced on the lower end of the full service Marriott properties.
