My past 5 stays have not registered and I have had to send in a copy of my receipt. They have all shown up on my phone prior to the stay, but once I check out, they do not show up on my activity unless I report them missing. Very strange.
I've only occasionally had issues with stays not posting. Of late the problem has completely disappeared for me.
I just completed four 1-night stays (Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon) and all posted promptly (Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs respectively) and accurately.
It's odd that you had five in a row that fail to post. Were there any commonalities (specific brand, country, how you booked the stays)? A missing stay is something that happens from time to time to most of us. That can be chalked up to bad luck. Five indicates a more serious problem. Perhaps you can shed a bit more light on the situation.
I am finding that the old paradigm of points showing up the second day after checkout or not at all is no longer valid. It seems that the 7 to 10 day rule is what some properties do. I have given up on chasing points unless it is two weeks late and find that they eventually show up. My best performance this year is the famous for points shorting LHR Ren showing up correct including Green points less than a tube ride from check out, my worst was Fairfield Guelph Ontario 19 days after checkout but correct. My SPG stays are particularly problematic as I am yet to get one numerically correct, they are always a day late and a dollar short.
^^^ this has been my experience in 2019 as well. Hotels that I frequent for work a lot, over the years, that used to post within 48 hours of checking out, are now taking up to 7-10 days, which is really annoying. Several times this year already. The longer it takes, the more I get worried that all the extras wont post (green choice, Plat bonus, promotion points, etc.). Marriott's IT department and infrastructure some how gets worse. Pretty embarrassing TBH. For the love of all things holy, please invest...
We can blame a lot on Marriott IT, but late points are strictly the fault of the property.
