So - how did everybody do with the last double points promotion? 37,650 for me.
I had two more stays finally post that were part of the promotion, put me up to 33K bonus points. That's what I get for $100 per night RI mostly
19K of that came from a 4-night stay at the W Ft Lauderdale
I picked up 15,556. I wasn't trying too hard as I tend to do better on promotions that award points based on number of stays rather than the room rate (like this one did). I had already booked 9 nights in London (on points) right in the middle of the promo which I knew would not earn me anything. No regrets.
Almost half my points came from a weekend NYC trip which morphed from 2 nights to 3 nights due to a weather related flight cancellation. On the plus side, my unplanned stay near LGA was on the last day of this promo, so I earned a few extra bonus points.
When will the next one start?
According to the Marriott site, I earned 26,789 rewards points during the Double Take Promotion. The majority of those points came from a five night stay at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani: I earned 15,539 additional points from that trip alone! I've already cashed in those promotional points by booking a five night points stay at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa later this summer, so I really appreciated the chance to earn them and am looking forward to a relaxing vacation.
I made the most of this promo with a lot of work travel during it ... 41,567 points
Still waiting on 500 point bonus for Friday/Saturday night stay, msannmcd. C
Did great with this promo! benefitted from a 5 night stay at the JW on Central Park.
90,675 for me!
Wow - that's some haul! Well done.
Has anyone received the 500 points per stay for using the Marriott Bonvoy visa card?
The terms of the promotion says that the 500 points for Bonvoy CC holders who make a weekend stay will take up to six weeks to post. Since the promotion ended June 4, I would not expect to see those points until the end of June or even early July.
I'm certain that as soon as someone sees these points post, there will be a comment added to this discussion.
I am extremely happy with my take, 63k, especially considering I had 17 nights during the promo period that were award nights (stay on points or certs) that were not able to earn double points due to the T&C.
61,348 for me.
I had mostly weekend stays. Only earned 8,943 on the double points. I should have 3,000 at least coming for the weekend stays. Like bejacob , I do better on promotions based on NIGHTS/STAYS rather than dollars spent.
It was a good promotion
Just 6 single night, low cost, stays worth 4800 points from the promotion, but the two promotions that were, for me, running at the same time ("Double Points on Weekends" and "Earn 18000 points from six stays") earned me an additional 20,880. In total the six nights cost me £490 and with my Titanium Bonus, Extras and the promotions, I earned a total of 58000 points. Not a bad return for the money spent.
Now tell me how I can get targeted for any other promotion. Tired of hearing all the wonderful offers everyone keeps getting to see 'zero' on my promotions page. Not liking this targeted marketing. Titanium Elite, but still - give me something please.
Last year I stayed 95 nights and didn't have any targeted promotions. Before the August merger I qualified for YOUR 24 benefits under the SPG rules at the time (75 nights). They confirmed by email that I had the benefit, then in August with the merger they took it off me. I complained long and hard to everyone but got nowhere. So I decided to fine them for their offence and did not stay at any Marriott properties for almost 4 months. Suddenly I was bombarded with targeted promotions - the first one was during my boycott and I didn't use it, but I then got the two targeted promotions in my post above. So, it seems that the way to get rewarded for your loyalty is to stop being loyal! Makes perfect sense in this crazy world.
I'm not sure that's the answer. I have made at least one stay at a Marriott branded property every month going back to the middle of 2015 and I got targeted. I think it's just the luck of the draw.
16,702 - over 12 nights, 10 stays. So the typical 2,000 points per stay, 3,000 at weekends megabonus would have suited me better and have made 27,000. On the other hand last years 750 bonus points per night would have made only 9,000!
No official idea, yet..........still waiting on a couple of missing stays during the promotion.....plus two nights immediately after promo ended still have not posted. I should end up about a buck fifty short of 30K once they finally get things done. (assuming they ever do, of course).
Took forever for some stays to post which was a little unusual, but finally got all the updates loaded...
