Last fall we stayed at a Courtyard for 6 nights and opted for the $10 F&B credit per day for myself and my wife. We were given coupons (12) and we were able to use them for a variety of things, breakfast, coffee, market items, etc. We understood that even if the cost of the item(s) was less then $10 we would relinquish one coupon. That still left another coupon for something else that day, market purchase, bistro item, etc. Some mornings we opted for breakfast and used both coupons, some days coffee with one and something else later.
We recently stayed at a Courtyard and again opted for the $10 F&B credit for each of us. This time no coupons were issued and we were told that when we made a purchase just give our room #. We purchased 2 coffees in the am for $4 and change. We opted to go out for breakfast. We mistakenly assumed that we still had $15 & change to use that day. When we tried to make a later purchase we were told that the credit was not available since we had made the coffee purchase. Fortunately the young lady at the desk was kind enough to "comp" us due to the misunderstanding.
