The Westin Eastland is in the old Eastland Hotel building that first opened in 1927.  When it first opened it featured 320 rooms, the largest hotel in Portland.  Today the Westin has 280 rooms.  This hotel is located on the western side of the city and is convenient if your plans include attending a sporting event or concert at the nearby Cross Insurance Arena.  But in any event, Portland is a very walkable city so you are never very far from the areas you would like to explore.

Our king room was average size and comfortable furnished.  The bathroom was modern and featured a rainfall style shower head in the walk-in shower.

This hotel does have a club lounge.  Since we were there on a weekend it was not open.  We received vouchers for breakfast in the main lobby level restaurant.  The restaurant is large and it also features a good size three-sided bar.  We had dinner at the bar one evening and it was very good.  Breakfast was good as well.

One of the nicest features of this hotel is the rooftop lounge called Top of the East.  It is the only rooftop lounge in Portland and it has nice city and harbor views.  This lounge is worth visiting even if you aren't staying at this hotel.

This hotel, like all the other 4 Marriott hotels in Portland has a free downtown shuttle.
