Today is my birthday... is this gone ? I was so used to it...every night makes a difference...
First off, Happy Birthday!
I wondered the same thing earlier this month. In the past, Marriott would send out an email with birthday wishes and a link to click which would result in the 1 elite night credit added to your account. That didn't happen this year. While I was on the Bonvoy customer service line on an unrelated issue, I asked about it. Never got an actual answer on the phone, but the rep said she would investigate for me. A few days later, 1 promotional night mysteriously appeared in my account.
As a LT Titanium, I'm not really counting nights any more, but that extra night may come in handy if I hope to hit 50 or 75 nights and earn the annual choice award benefits.
No idea if the birthday emails are going out any more. I was able to get that one extra night credit by calling. I don't know if that is what is supposed to happen now or if the rep just did it out of kindness. For all I know, the birthday night credit is being eliminated and I just got lucky based on who ended up answering the phone.
Lots of things we once took for granted no longer seem to work the way they did in years past.
Thanks for the birthday wishes....Sadly I was hoping for the new JW Marriott in Edmonton to open and splurge in luxury but its date has been pushed back over a year!!!!.... I found another thread on here last year where the community managers did confirm it still is on and a link to send in a customer support request which I will do shortly. Every night count to keep that 50 nights- that's all I want form Marriott for that 4pm checkout and then I will give 30 nights to Hilton to maintain Diamond. Cheers!
Never had under SPG so never missed! Could well be another of those little touches that make a programme better that have had a line drawn through it! Mediocrity here we come.
From Dec 2018: From our Community Managers: "All members can receive an elite night credit towards their status on or around their birthday if they have their birthday listed in their account, and they must be subscribed to receive emails from Marriott. If your account follows both of these actions, and your birthday has already passed this year, please fill out aCustomer Support with your information and we can look into this with our team."
Thanks... I meet all those criteria and receive tons of email from Marriott. The community managers are looking into it for me...Cheers...
So, I too was missing the birthday elite night. Tried to log on here (insiders) but the site was down for at least a week. So I messaged from the help site on the main page and after about two weeks got my birthday night. But, it was not an elite night credit, it was an actual free night for a room up to 30000 points. I was certainly happy to use it at I had a stay coming up that week for Orlando. Anybody else get this or was it just a fluke>

WOW!!! That is awesome.. I would rather yours than the 1 night elite credit... I could use that... did it state when you had to use it by ?
I did not see an expiration on the free birthday night but I did use it almost immediately. It was certainly a pleasant surprise.
Happy belated birthday. Mine is next week, and I will update group after my night appears. Fingers crossed for receiving the same "present" that Darrbee got.
Thanks... Yeah...happy pre-birthday to you too... yeah... the community managers were helpful and told me to wait until end of this week and then let them know.. but now I want that free night!!!! Maybe if I call the PLAT elite line they may oblige or does it differ? With IHG I get the free night...
Happy Belated Birthday, pat2927, and thanks for the heads-up! J's Birthday Free Night credit is missing, too, after his birthday last week. Sadly, J also did not receive the very wonderful Birthday Free Night Award Good For Free Night Up To 30k Points like darrbee. Usually he receives an email with a link to receive the credit. Will fill out aCustomer Support form as suggested by arizonatag and communitymanagers above and in 12/'18. Watching J's nights/points for 3-night stay to post as well, which is almost 10 days out - will fill out Missing Stay forms for this in several days. And then plan to call hotel/Bonvoy Customer Service to follow up on both of these like bejacob. So very grateful that 2 of the 5 night trip did post correctly! C
Thanks.... darrbee are you sure it was a free night award or was it through your credit card ? I just called the elite line and got my elite night credit added to my account - excellent interaction with an agent..... despite all the press buttons.. lolbut the supervisor says it has always been an elite night credit and no free night...hhhhmmmm...communitymanagers maybe you can clarify? Thanks all...
