Happens to some members every time there is a MegaBonus. I'd say there are two good options. One--wait a day or two and try to register again online. Two--call the customer service line and ask to be registered. Since the promotion doesn't begin until March 19, there is no urgency to register. If you still can't register online sometime next week, call. When things like this happen, calling is the fastest way to resolve the issue.
Just once, I'd love to see a MegaBonus that allows everyone to register without problems. I know, wishful thinking.
But why the need to register at all, folks. Surely it would be easier for global promos to just be applied to all members stays? Why do we need to signup?
I got the same notification, but it also looks like I'm signed up after I refreshed the page. Maybe the notification is popping up because the promo doesn't start until 3/19.
In any event, it's just another example of the beautiful work being performed by Marriott IT. What gives with these folks? I'm no IT guy, but I'm beginning to wonder why Marriott is actually paying these people.

This is a classic case of the error message being an error! Is that like a double negative? Just ignore the message and you will find that you are indeed registered.
I got the error on the desktop and then checked in my app and it says I am registered.
I got this message as well...then called my Ambassador - she confirmed I was registered for it. I think it is just an IT issue, you can also look at your promotions page and there should be a grey bar showing progression - even though it hasnt started.
I get the same message and have for the past week. It’s tells me to register but then it won’t let me registered. I double checked and I am not already registered for it. Happens to me in almost every promotion.
I'm sorry you are not able to register, lenabrian. You can try to fill out a Customer Support Support/Help Form before resorting to calling. C
I've completed a form. Now I am waiting. I am traveling a lot right now so I want all my points. haha
Yes I get that on the app and when I call to say hey I didn't get credit on the stay. They say oh your not registered. I'm like duh. I just told you the app isn't allowing it. And the response is oh we will register you now as if it means they will retroactively apply the promotion. But nope doesn't happen. Good examples of this would be 1) Exclusively For You: Earn double points, 2) Double Take: Earn double points. My stays never got adjusted against either though eligible even notifying them of the app issue. And keep in mind my points are vital as I have been trying to earn to save them to use towards my honeymoon for November. Guess Marriott could care less. And here I was seeking a Marriott property to do it in Hawaii.
communitymanagers Hey, I'm having the same issue, and have it with almost every promotion. It's offered to me on the website, I get the message that I can't be registered for some inexplicable reason, and I need to call to do it by phone.
1) Can you help?
2) Can you forward this issue to tech support? Clearly a lot of pretty highly valued members have some kind of flag on their profiles that make it so we consistently can't register for promotions online that we're eligible for.
I got the same thing and sent the request with missing room stay and downgrade to my account...3 requests in all they registered me and I have yet to here on the other 2 ....been a month. LOL
