Did I get short changed?

Welcome points didn't show up on my account for a recent stay. I emailed Marriott with the details and they made the adjustment pretty quick and provided 1000 points compensation. No complaints about this.


The only thing that I wonder about is the compensation if not offered is $100 [depending on property]. Well, 1000 points vs $100 doesn't balance out so well. $100 can get you between 1/4 to 1/2 a night in 40,000 point room. 1000 points seem way off by that measure.


I'm just wondering what the going rate for compensation of missing arrival points people have been getting?
