I decided this morning that I would look at accommodation for the weekend of the Turn up and Tipple in April. I currently have about 40000 points( I say about because Marriott/ hotel ballsed up my points from my recent stay in Malta, posting only 1 night and 600 points for a 5 night stay, and despite promises that it would be fixed by last Thursday, it still has not been done.) So armed with about this number of points I went to my normal London Hotel, the Sheraton Skyline at Heathrow. Last year this hotel was increased from a Cat 3 hotel to a 5, meaning that it now requires 35000 points for a free night but , somewhat nievely, thought that under cash and points purchase this would mean a payment of apx. £70 and 17500 points per night. According to the wonderful Marriott web shite, cash and points is now 35000 points per night, the same as points only, and they also want £100 per night as well! The full cash room rate is only £97. Is this some kind of bud and crisps joke?
