I'm a Marriott PPE, and my United Silver status has suddenly disappeared. Is this all part of the 'newer, better" Bonvoy + horrendous merger ...?
Decided to call Marriott customer service (queue eye roll ... ) Conversation went like this once I finally got through phone tree hell:
Me: I seem to have lost my United Silver status that I receive as being a Marriott PPE. Can you advise?
CS: This is Marriott, not United.
Me: Yeah- I know. This is supposed to be a benefit I receive as a Marriott PPE.
CS: Whose program are you referring to?
CS: Hold on (3-4 minute hold).
CS: What's your Marriott Rewards number (why bother to type it in twice to the automated system, right)?
Me: Gives Rewards Number.
CS: Hold on (12 minute hold ... at which point I hung up).
Way to go! Bonvoy forever!
