changes in service charge and tax after confirmed redemption booking

I have made a redemption booking using points last aug and received a confirmation email stating that all service charge is included and only some tax need to be paid.  today, I found that the reservation has been changed.  now, apart from the points, I need to pay all the service charge and tax in cash.  I was shocked.  is this common to redemption booking?  any advices are welcome!
