Does applying for a new marriott credit card give me 15 elite nights this year? I can’t seem to find the 15 elite night credits in the offer details.
did they take this away? I din’t have any card
It wasn't taken away, it exists on any of the cards, and will exist on the upcoming Marriott Bonvoy cards as well.
Can you point me to where it is highlighted in the terms? I used to be able to see it but not anymore
Look at any of the current cards, or any of the new Bonvoy cards - it's clearly listed on all of them. Attempt to apply for one (without completing the process), and you'll see it.
They don't appear to be in a hurry to put the 15 into our tally for the SPG cards. I assume this is because the new cards are coming. Is the consensus that they will be credited when the replacement Bonvoy cards arrive?
That's because the date the 15 elite night credits for SPG cards would happen - hasn't happened yet! It won't be until March 2019, and that's now for ANY of the Marriott/SPG/Bonvoy cards (at least, so they said, so TBD...)
Maybe this will help (from the terms & conditions) at Marriott Rewards® Credit Card from Chase
15 Elite Night Credits: Each calendar year a maximum of 15 Elite Night credits will be credited to one of your Marriott Loyalty Program accounts operated by Marriott International (i.e., Marriott Rewards®, Starwood Preferred Guest® or The Ritz-Carlton Rewards®) (the “Marriott Loyalty Program”) on or before March 1 in accordance with the Marriott Loyalty Program terms and conditions. To qualify for the 15 Elite Night credits, you must be the primary cardmember and your credit card account must be open and not in default as of December 31 of the prior year and you must be a member in good standing with the Marriott Loyalty Program. A maximum of 15 Elite Night credits will be awarded per Marriott Loyalty Program member even if the Marriott Loyalty Program member has more than one Marriott Rewards, Starwood Preferred Guest, or Ritz-Carlton Rewards credit card account or is a member of more than one Marriott Loyalty Program. Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or failure to provide the stated benefits and services.
One important thing to note is that to get the 15 elite night (on or before March 1), you need to have had your credit card account open and not in default as of December 31 of the prior year.
So anyone who is thinking about signing up for a new card will likely not get their 15 nights until next year. For anyone who had one of these cards at the end of last year, expect to see 15 nights added to your account between now and March 1. I believe the AMEX terms are similar.
I received the 15 nights for having the Bonvoy credit card on March 1. Chase just barely made the "on or before March 1" language in their terms & conditions.
I received 15 nights a week ago, was not certain why and then I realized I upgraded to the new and improved Chase card. So maybe that is why. As a LTT I was really concerned. :-)
