I'm looking for hotels with 2-bedroom suites near the beach. We've stayed at the Residence Inn in Clearwater and Treasure Island.
Please share your thoughts.
Since you're already on the Gulf side of Florida take a look at the Hotels in Fort Myers, Florida | Fort Myers, Florida, Hotels which is located about 1.5 miles from the Sanibel/Captiva Island Causeway with great beaches just over the causeway. It's also about 15 minutes from Ft. Myers Beach headed back toward town. If you are flying into the area use Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in S. Ft. Myers and the drive to the hotel is 25 minutes.
Then you could look into the Naples Hotels | Hotels in Naples Florida | Residence Inn Naples which is about a mile from the beaches in Naples. From RSW it will take you about 35 minutes to get to Naples down I-75.
Heading a bit further south you've got Marco Island with two wonderful Marriott properties located right on the beach.
Vacation Rentals for Families in Marco Island, FL | Marriott's Crystal Shores a Marriott Vacation Club and the newly remodeled/updated https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mrkfl-jw-marriott-marco-island-beach-resort/. Not sure if the JW has 2 BR Suites and both would certainly be more pricey than the RI's mentioned above.
Hope this helps some. If not be more specific to location as well as time of year and I know other Insiders will offer excellent suggestions.
Unless you are staying at a Residence Inn, Townplace Suites or Springhill Suites you are more than likely going to need two+ rooms at any Marriott Hotels unless you can a get junior suite/suite at a Marriott, Ritz, Renaissance or JW Marriott. An alternative can be a Marriott Vacation property and there is one on Marco Island. On the East Coast there are 3 that may fit your needs, Fort Lauderdale and 2 in the Palm Beach Area (Singer Island). Now that Sheraton is part of Marriott there may be properties that have the configuration you are interested in.
