The Renaissance Westchester Hotel, located in Harrison, NY (near White Plains and NYC) is a hidden gem which is hiding in plain site!  How many times have we seen a post on this site which complains about not being able to find a quality property to use a Category 4 (25,000 points) free night certificate that is located near a major city?  Well here is your big chance.  This property is a mere 30 minutes from Manhattan by nearby train (Rye train station) or by car.  This Renaissance is convenient to all major highways, located between l-287, the Hutchinson River Parkway, Route 95 (NE Thruway), Route 684 and Westchester Avenue.  As you turn off Westchester Ave to enter the property you proceed down a winding drive (past the headquarters of the US Tennis Association) arriving at the hotel which is located in a heavily wooded surrounding seemingly miles away from civilization.  The hotel sits on a 30 acre preserve and because of its excellent location is a very popular wedding hotel and place for corporate events.

The hotel itself is clean and updated.  It has a newly renovated lobby, lobby bar and open space dining room.  The concierge lounge is clean and comfortable with a good selection of offerings.  Even better, this property offers FREE parking, and does NOT charge a destination or resort fee!

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and have never been disappointed.  If you are looking for an alternative to staying in downtown NYC, this may be the place for you.

By the way, there is also a nearby Ritz-Carlton located just down the street in White Plains that is a nice convenient alternative to a NYC hotel.  I will do a separate review of that property.
