I received email for birthday elite night credit in past two years. I claimed for 2017, but no elite night credit is shown in my account for 2018 though I clicked the link to claim successfully. When I contact Marriott, I was surprised to be told that I need to agreed to receive News and Offers from Marriott partners. If this is the case, you should not even send me the birthday email to ask me to claim. Or you should mentioned in the email that I need to agree to receive News and Offers from Marriott partners. I didn't select "receive News and Offers from Marriott partners" in 2017, but I received email and claimed successfully. Please see the below screenshots for my communication with support. What's going on here???
