I’ll get to the point.  Can hotels avoid the compensation by saying they awarded you points when you don’t even know if they did at the time of arrival (they could add them after) and you didn’t get a choice upon checking in? And, if they say they can only give points because they have no other amenities so that’s what they gave, us that acceptable? I’m tired of not being asked and then either assuming or lying to avoid the rules.
