Is anyone noticing that dining at the hotel is not being added to spend total? I especially feel like it was missed from SPG stays prior to July, but it seems like only room cost charges are being added, even lately.
If I charge the meal to my room, it seems to post points for me without a problem. But that is at a Marriott, I haven't done that at an SPG property yet.
same here, charge it to your room
I've stayed at a Renaissance and Ritz Carlton in the past week and all dining charges were properly posted to my room bill and earned points as appropriate.
My dining spend has posted correctly most of the time. On occasion, I’ll call Platinum Services, and they’ll contact the property to verify the spend, then post the points. As mentioned above, make sure to charge it to your room.
I have the same issue with F&B spend at RC prior to August 18th. I called right after the merger and got no response back. Now that my spend is at a point where it will qualify me for Ambassador status, I plan to call and just keep asking to be moved up until I get to someone that is able to resolve the issue. Personally, I think that they are just too lazy to go back and get the information since it did not qualify for points prior to August 18th and thus was not documented.
I am going to be ~$1,500 below the $20k, but I am pretty sure all of my stays prior to the merger at SPG did not have it counted. Not sure how to resolve this. I don't want to go back through 30 stays and try to tally it up, but we stayed at the Westin Florence and spent 500 Euros, and I did not see that, so I am pretty sure it is not on the total.
