Do you travel with your Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick?

I don't have a TV at home, so I travel with a Roku when staying with Marriott to catch up on the latest series. I've had pretty good luck with it stateside, although it won't work with every TV set, either for being unable to access the TV's input menu (digitally locked out), or being unable to physically access the HDMI port. I haven't had success internationally. I found the TV's menu can't be accessed at most of the hotels I've stay at abroad. When I've been able to access my Roku and connect to wifi, it's that I can't access content providers like Netflix due to a foreign IP address. Anyone have any experiences, best practices, know if there's a way to get streaming services via one of these devices while outside the States? Thanks in advance for the feedback.
