So... after the merger, when booking a spg property do we give them the same Marriott reward number we been using?and they do offer all the same benefit for Marriott platinum member at all the spg property too?

If you have merged your accounts you give the Merged account #
If you have not merged your accounts you give them your updated SPG#
Thanks for the reply, I had a spg number many years ago but don’t record ever using it and while trying to find out if I had a web account on spg.com it automaticity connect to Marriott website. So, that route is not working. I am trying to find out if I give the spg hotel my MR number, it should work too right? I didn’t book through Marriott or spg website but directly with hotel, but they seem puzzled with this whole new Marriott /spg reward program merger counld give me a straight answer
Try booking another room at the property (considering your reservation booked through the hotel was refundable) using your Marriott Rewards account through the Marriott website. That will attached your Rewards number to the reservation. You can then call the hotel and cancel the one they made on the phone with you, but just make sure to check your account a day or so later to make sure you've still got the new reservation and that both of them did not get cancelled.
Why not call SPG to verify your correct number, rather than guessing?
And if you never had an SPG number, I imagine if you book what was an SPG property through the Marriott site your Marriott number will automatically be attached to the reservation.
