In nearly 800 separate stays at Marriott properties, I've never reserved a room at one rate and had the hotel charge another rate upon checkout. That is, until the big MERGE...
I stayed one night at a Fairfield Inn & Suites on Aug.19th. It was a prepaid $79 rate. The folio listed $99. At the time, I honestly thought I may have made a mistake, but nope, I checked the original reservation and it was, in fact, a $79 rate. The hotel charged my credit card the additional $20. I was getting ready to leave the country for a few weeks, so I neglected to follow up at the time.
Well, what I thought was just an odd occurrence has now repeated itself. I checked out of a Courtyard this morning and the rate on the folio was $166 vs the $149 that was booked. I have no idea what is going on or how this is even possible, but check your folios, gang!!
I called the Courtyard and the FD associate apologized and is correcting the error, but this shouldn't be happening.
