This is my first post, I have something really bugging me so it moved me to go from regular reader to poster. I have over 420 lifetime nights, 6 years of gold (and a couple of platinum). I also am already at 75 nights this year. I don’t care about the 100-night thing because I am not going to have $20,000 spent nor do I care about the concierge. With Rollover points being eliminated, what reason do I have to continue staying at Marriott this year? I will need 50 nights for the next 4 years to reach LTP, which would put me over 600 nights anyway.

I ask ask because I have received an offer from another hotel chain to match my status through 2020 if I stay at their hotels 8 times in the next 90 days. That’s no problem for me, but i’m Just trying to think it through whether I am missing some incentive. With rollover nights, there was an obvious incentive to run right past each threshold. Now, it seems to me, there isn’t.
