Apologies in advance if this question has been asked before, but I could not find any answer searching the forums.
I believe this is an Autograph collection property and is considered a "resort." Since there is no lounge at this property, is it safe to assume that as a Lifetime Platinum Elite member, me and my guests will receive the option to choose free breakfast in their restaurant as our welcome amenity upon check-in?

Thank you for reaching out! As this is a resort location, the Lounge/breakfast benefit is not given at this location. When this benefit is given, it is for an elite member and one guest. You can always ask what options the hotel has for the welcome gift upon check-in.

Thank you for your response. Can you please elaborate on what you mean by elite members? As I mentioned in my OP, I am lifetime platinum elite. Does this qualify as elite?
I also thought that under the new combined programs, resort properties now included free breakfast as a platinum amenity...
Once again, this is a case of unfortunately, being right is overrated. As Platpboy provides the bbob pretzel twisting logic of breakfast benefit chart shows - resorts, as spierser correctly stated are 'supposed to' provide breakfasts for platinums. One thing I have learned in dealing with Marriott over the 'Arne' years is to check and double check (an Aaron Rodgers' quote, in honor of platpboy's help ) policy if I have any question at all - before traveling and especially during any transitional policy change period where the properties often run wild with their own interpretations.
Being that I want to visit Sarasota, the various keys, and see the manatees (hopefully before the red tide wipes them out) I had looked at this property and actually called (twice) to confirm that they offered breakfast for Platinums. Both times the front desk assured me that they did - the last time Alex did (I take names, just in case).
communitymanagers - I suggest you pop back into this thread and help us (including the property) get to the bottom of this and find the correct answer. Thank you.
This is often the Marriott way - a policy is a policy unless it's not and it sadly falls once again under the category of "how bad do you want it?" well as readers know, I want my breakfast (for two), especially at resorts (real $$$).
Keep on keepin' on and during this transition, for sure, trust but verify .

Ok, thanks for the follow up. Now, for the question asked by the OP; Are they entitled (per the new policy which states that they are) to a breakfast for guest plus one in lieu of the 1,000 point check in Platinum Welcome Gift Amenity or is this one of those "except where noted exceptions" where I for one, can not find the exception.

No breakfast in the lounge - but what about breakfast? The new policy (for Autograph Resorts) would indicate that as a guest I would be entitled to either a 1,000 point Welcome Amenity or Breakfast for member + 1 guest.
I think the confusion is over breakfast in the lounge or not (even loyalty wizard IAH got mixed up just this week) - I was attempting to confirm for the OP (as monisame did) that he was entitled to the Welcome Amenity Gift breakfast plus one option. As I wrote above, I called twice and they said "Yes, they offer breakfast (+1) as a Welcome Amenity for Plats" (which is what I would go off of as a lodger - quoting my good pal Alex).
If anything, this highlights the potential for confusion; reminding us once again in this day of "how bad do you want it?" to, if in any doubt whatsoever, always check (as Julia recommended) with the hotel (although, I'd recommend doing it before check in).

Yes you will have that benefit. Autograph hotels always offers breakfast at their restaurant, for Plats.
