I am just 5 nights away from being a Lifetime Platinum Elite , but not 10 years . Can i still achieve the lifetime platinum premier elite ?
You need 2M Marriott Rewards Points in addition to the 750 nights to qualify for Lifetime Platinum (Platinum Premier under the new Program). The other option is 600 nights and 10 years. Lifetime Platinum Premier Elite will not be awarded after 31 Dec 2018 unless Marriott makes a future change to its grandfathering clause for the new program. Hope that makes since. Long ago you needed to be in the program for 10 years to get LTP. That requirement is not listed anymore (though it was a req when I hit LTP). People have stated that it is still a requirement but I do not think anyone knows for certain.
When I hit LTP the req was 1K nights, 2M points and 10 years in MR (no level requirement only being a MR member for 10 years). The number of nights was dropped to 750. a few years ago.
Starting in 2019 (or in a couple days if you know you will be unable to make a specific LT status in 2018), you absolutely need 10 (non-consecutive) Platinum years for LTP in the new program; it's not "still" a requirement, it will be a requirement once the new program launches. The number of years required will be nothing new for Starriott (SPGers), but is a "new" (updated from 12 years, from a few years ago in a previous MR program iteration) requirement for Marriwooders, along with 600 nights.
To answer your direct question however, if you are 5 nights away from being MR lifetime platinum, yes, if you earn the 5 nights in 2018, you would be LTPP.
Also, if you are 5 nights away from being SPG lifetime Platinum, yes, if you also have 750 total nights (SPG and/or MR) by the end of 2018, you would also be LTPP.
