Anybody know? It doesn’t show up in the Luxury Collection or Design....it must be part of one SPG group.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts - The Maxwell
It now shows as a Tribute on the new site.....still not part of the name like the rest of the hotels in the brand..funny.
Please check this out as you climb your personal Everest to 500 different hotels. I'm pretty sure this was the former W in New York (any SPGers ever stay here?), so it should be pretty decent. Currently (as in, like the NYC Moxy, could change once it gets traction) is often $50 or more less than other properties - including the $25 'destination' fee - which now comes with its own Destination Tax, don't ya just love it?
Give us the scoop, snoop - thank you, your humble follower with less than half of your different hotels .
I had a tentative reservation set up for the Maxwell last Thursday night. The rate was a giveaway near $100 (add that $25 “fun fee” and still darn cheap). BUT, the reviews were horrible and only 31% of stayers would recommend the hotel. I’ve never seen a percentage so low.
I opted instead for the Pulse. It’s normal NYC rate was set aside for $170 AAA..and no fee.
Wow talk about your ,
I, a long haired, overfed, leaping gnome, seldom up past the 11 o'clock news, decided after a handful of cards with the boys, to check in the ol' Insiders forum to see what condition my condition was in and then to possibly book a reservation at the Maxwell.
Lo and behold, only a hour earlier, my main man pain responded to my request for info when he was probably writing somewhere in one of the 'stans dining at lunchtime with his favorite cat hat
I appreciate the insights, I think I'll stick with my early bird special at the Central Park Residence Inn where on my last stay there I was lucky enough to snag a corner room on the 64th floor in America's tallest hotel (65 floors - top floor saved for the platpboys of the travel world).
Ok, falling asleep at the keyboard. Thank you for the helpful reply (marked accordingly for my pals bbob and b.e. )
Keep on keepin' on and good night
Always love your photos erc, but “The Cat IS the Hat” has to be the best! I spluttered my tea all over my ipad!
Good timing for this. Trying to plan a Veterans Day weekend in NYC with 2 platinum premier couples. We were thinking there might be some 2 BR suites somewhere but haven't found one yet. The CP RI sounds good though. Also eyeballing East Side.
