I cannot find this thread - perhaps it got to heated?
Your points about to be worth 1/2
Well I certainly hope it wasn't the CMs that did it - we don't want the forum turning into a bunch of namby pamby topics guarded by an overzealous Big Brother (that's what we always gave Marriott credit for - open discourse, even when knocking Marriott).
And I certainly hope it wasn't any Insiders that complained - if it was the participants, heck they were the ones stirring the pot picking the 'low hanging fruit' and if it was non-participants, don't read/follow and it won't bug you.
If it was William, it's his prerogative as OP, but that's disappointing also - there was an excellent exchange and a lot of good thought in that thread (yeah, sometimes you weed thru stuff to get to the pony, but net.net - good info).
Let's hope we don't truly turn into the 'geeks' that the NY Times called us

If I recall, that thread disappeared for several hours last Friday only to reappear later in the day.
I did not know that an OP could delete a post. There are a couple I would like to strike from the record.
I thought we were making progress.
it is back.
The thread has returned. This is both good news and bad.
The good news is that it’s not been deleted by Marriott. A thing I like about this site is that it’s gently moderated, but not censored, well other than naughty words! I’m pleased to see it’s not been deleted by Marriott.
The bad news is, well it’s “that” thread. The title is plain wrong, the contents of the opening post draw conclusions that are just wholly inaccurate. To be fair, williamstanek did edit the opening post after a few days to add some additional info at the end that had a modicum of merit but his assertions during the thread that category 9 is coming next year, that Ritz was going to have its own unannounced categories costing over 100,000 points per night, his continuing insistence that our points were being halved, without a scrap of evidence for any of these points, and that those criticising these falsehoods were Marriott staffers really renders that minor amendment pretty moot.
erc maintains there is merit in the thread because of the information it’s inaccuracies drew out. I think there must be better ways to accomplish that!
