This pertains to lifetime status. I know this may sound obvious but what actually counts as a year of gold status?
I've been a member since way back sometime in the 90's. I used to travel a lot then and through the early 2000's but not much since until I retired a few years back . I've got 763 total nights but only about 700,000 points. With so few points I would never qualify for lifetime status. With the new program I have a chance. I called customer support to see how many years of gold status I have. They couldn't tell me but gave me the following dates when I qualified for gold:
05/27/2000 - 2/1/2003
10/13/2014 - 1/31/2015 (this was some kind of promotion)
11/9/2015 - now
That seems to be about 67-68 months or so which is well short of the 84 that I need for 7 years of gold status but close enough that I should qualify in 2020 as I expect to be gold next year as well. On the other hand, if they only count full calendar years then I will have 5 years if you include 2018 and so 2019 will only make 6 meaning I will also have to qualify for gold in 2020.
