Property knowing that you've stayed before

Hi everyone, I haven't posted on here in a long time but wanted to share a frustration and see if anyone else has run into the same thing.  As a business traveler with a set territory, I tend to stay at the same properties on a regular basis (Some 5-10 times a year).  It amazes me that, during check in, I'm always asked: "Have you stayed with us before?".  They can easily see my rewards status and always comment on that, but they never seem to know that, yes, I have stayed at your property X number of times (or nights).  You would think this would be valuable information for the property to have, especially since they are independently owned.  It's one thing to be loyal to the brand, but I'm sure the individual owners are looking for loyalty to their properties as well.  Do they not have this information available to them at a glance?
