Boscolo Nice, Cote d'Azur

A very nice property in Nice. Belle Epoque building within a 10 minute walk from the beach and the old town. Friendly staff. Very helpful. Valet parking only or park in the street. There is a subway construction in the street, so get directions from the hotel before you drive there. It should get a subway line directly to the airport sometime next year.

Upon arrival we got a decent upgrade, but not a suite.

Very hard pillows. Very un-Marriott. Everything else was fine. Friendly helpful staff. There is a tub with Prosecco and mineral water in the lobby. Help yourself!.

Arrival gift was a standard choice. We took 1/2 bottle of wine, but we also found a bottle of Cremant on icein the room  since they knew it was a belated anniversary trip.

Breakfast was exactly the same as in Boscolo in Venice. A basic minimalist cold cuts and continental stuff buffet, and you can order from a limited menu.

Breakfast buffet with three cheeses, cold cuts (salami, mortadella and parma ham) Juices, pastries, cereals and fruit.

There is a fancy seafood restaurant in the building but prices were prohibitive. There is also a bar-lounge (not a business lounge) on the roof top by the pool. Food there was nice, but a tad expensive as well. The pool is free but mattresses are not. There was also a spa downstairs but we did not have time for it.

We came back to Boscolo after a few days in Cannes and Monaco. This time we got a much smaller room but with a balcony. Same hard pillows

Restroom doors in both rooms were opaque glass with huge gaps between doors and floor/wall. Not my favorite design. Unisex bathroom stalls downstairs were quite a surprise as well.

There is an ice tub with sparkling wine and water in the lobby. They would replenish it at the first request.
