Is there a place on the Marriott site where it tells you how many years of elite status that you currently have?
Not online. You have to call Marriott for that information.
I wonder when the info on number of years Elite status with Marriott will get added online? I’m not in a rush to know, so am reluctant to bother with the phone call.
I am am working on my strategy for LTP under the new program, so will need to know years of status at some point. I think I have about 5 years old Gold and 2 years old Platinum. This should put me at 7 years new Platinum, so I’ll need three more years of new Platinum to meet the 10 year requirement. I currently have 500 lifetime nights with Marriott and 10 nights with SPG, so need another 90 nights in the next 3 years to get LTP.
Yes in your profile under nights click on details. You can see your lifetime total there.
Probably will be added by 1 August. SPG already has this with the "SPG Dashboard", so there's a good chance that will just be ported over. But for now, as stated, you have to call the Marriott Rewards hotline to find out.
Question about the number of years of platinum status.
I first earned Platinum in 2002 and had it until 2007. I then had Platinum again in 2014 through present (2018).
So I was Platinum in: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. I held Platinum during each of these ten years. I didn't keep detailed records to learn in what month of 2002 or 2014 I qualified for Platinum.. I just knew I was Platinum during that year.
So I phoned Marriott to check. The agent on the phone let me know they don't count the years that way. They count the years as 2007 minus 2002 (5 years) and 2018 minus 2014 (4 years). The month I qualified doesn't matter:
If I qualified on Jan 15, 2002... I would have been Platinum for 5 years, 11 months, 2 weeks... but I get credit for 5 years.
If I qualified again on Jan 15 in 2014 and held Platinum through 2018.. Again, I would have been Platinum for 4 years, 11 months, 2 weeks.. but I get credit for 4 years.
So a total of 10 years, 11 months would get me Lifetime Gold.
Does that calculation sound correct to you?
Thanks so much!
