Lifetime status: how will 'gold' years in old program be accounted for in the new LTP?

There have been a number of discussions on Insiders about the new program but I haven't seen a confirmed response. My question is simple, and I know that others have it too: will years as 'Gold' under the old program count as 'Platinum' in the new one, for the purpose of achieving the Lifetime Plat status? In other words: the new requirement for LTP is 10 years as Platinum; as an example if someone has 5 years as Gold and 5 as Plat (under old rules), will that satisfy the 10 years as Plat to achieve LTP in the new program? (assuming they also have 600+ nights).

I also emailed this question to MR. Trying to see if there is a chance to qualify as LTP in August under the new program. I have 648 nights but am short on points to qualify for LTG before Aug 1.

Thanks in advance for any insights.
