The gang is back together again! Let the pictures fly! Here’s to a great weekend all!
C U Saturday
See you lovely people tomorrow for cocktail hour!
See you tomorrow somewhat after 7:00 PM! Be sure to leave some refreshments for the rest of us!
And by the way, where are the name tags?
I saw a couple brightlybob and seatexan at the Museum, today. Looking forward to seeing all on Friday afternoon. It will be interesting to see how many of us score suites.
Looks like a lot of fun - can't wait to join in.
Thank you so much again for helping get us tickets! The museum was so well done and moving. Lots of tears.
See you again Friday!
nhtraveler, the name-tags will come out tomorrow. I didn’t want to keep up with them, nor did anyone else. The group was small enough everyone knew each other.
Have a great time! I see Bob is as quiet and unobtrusive as usual.
Well, I turned up at the bar in the Renaissance at 4pm to find this lot propping it up already, but they seemed to need help, so I just blended quietly in.
We merry band - L to R, pey, seatexan, iahflyr, Mrs iahflyr (I extend my profound sympathies for her maritally inflicted sufferings), me, nationwide and jsucool76 who showed off his immaculate millennial credentials by not looking at the camera, which as everyone knows is sooo 20th century - really went un-noticed, that is until the party animals wiscfriend, @len, sledchick, fistuk, tef6178, painedplatinum, wmrobins and bejacob turned up with their cigars and insistence on drinking shots, and it really went downhill from there!
Yes it was great to see you at the museum, which is really well done. Thanks very much for arranging the ticket for me!
Up at 04.30, pouring rain in DC... looks like Tipplers are going to have to occupy themselves with indoor games today
At the train station going to Philly for an early run of bar hopping and food touring (Philly seems like the kind of place that has good dive bars for 9am drinking).
Someone left a Marriott pen at the Amtrak lounge desk.
This pretty much speaks for itself, even the part with iahflyr photo-bombing the double tipple twins brightlybob and bejacob.
Double TIPPLE is of to an EPIC start.
This reminds me of my spring break college days, when by time my buddy and I had gotten back from buying some beers, the group I was with, had already been tossed from the hotel room .
Please keep the hotel open to Insiders until at least Saturday night - we don't want to party at a WeWork rental .
That makes sense. And frankly, it might even be better without name tags, especially if wives/companions have different last names!
Hi seatexan - From an earlier post, I assume that you joined brightlybob at the holocaust museum. It is one of the best in the country, if not the best. Dallas is in the process of building a new venue for theirs.
When I worked for the National Association of Attorneys General in the early 2000's I served as the guide for several AG's and their wives. As one who had lost family I never had the chance to know as a result of the holocaust, I must admit that I was a bit surprised by how few of them knew about the victims being transported to the camps in cattle cars. I guess the History Channel wasn't high on their list!
I'm sure that after that museum visit, you wanted a drink!
Less nametags means more talking and interaction usually!
4 in 10 millennials don't know 6 million Jews were killed in Holocaust, study shows - CBS News
Our Seatexan, always smarter than the average bear (although, she may not know that reference ).
What, its all not a Photoshop conspiracy like the moon landing???
Seriously makes my skin crawl and fear for the future when people with seemingly normal intelligence levels question the holocaust.
Add to the 6 mil the numbers of Russians killed and the waste in lives is more than doubled.
And it's only a 10 min topic in history class for most kids. Blows my mind.
I demand more double tipple photos!
I second this
uatraveler1k, and rubberduckmd - we are having too much fun to stop and post. We have a system outage coming in a bit, but will come back on line and post from the museum visit and lobby social tonight.... stay tuned!
It's sad they scheduled the outage in the middle of double tipple Was looking forward to live updates!
