I have just run into something that has never happened before.  Went to book a stay in Atlanta and wanted to stay at the JW Marriott in Buckhead for 4 days.  I first tried to get a room for 4 days at government rate, which wasn't available.  Then looked at both the Marriott Rewards Member and Senior Rate and only $30 more per night than government rate.  Ok, I like the property, lets book it.

I go to the room selection page for the Member Rewards, see rates for the room listed, $178 for basic room, and $224 for one package, and $234 for a different package.  Ok, hit select and book now.  Note that the total shows $1100.  Huh. Go back to original page.  Says $178/US $ per night, but under the big print it has $924 total for room.  Thats $231/per night.  What's the deal?

Thats a $53/night difference.  I have never had this happen before.  Anyone, including communitymanagers, have a good explanation other than bait and switch.
