I have filled out 3 missing stay request and can not get anyone to answer or even acknowledge my request. Any suggestions?
I always have good luck getting missing stays/points resolved by calling Marriott Rewards at 800-321-7396. Have your original reservation information and room folio in front of you when you call. Good luck.
I have often wondered how stays go missing. Does someone at the hotel not put it in the system properly? I know that every hotel seems to use a different system. I have a dragging, but not too dragging, stay not posting in it's usual prompt manner so I think I will call the hotel if it's not posted by Friday to see what the hang up is. Maybe the hotel can sort it before the customer service line can.
My experience is that the vast majority of problems emirate from the property not properly inputting and/or coding things correctly. This is why we need to have a penalty imposed on properties for not correctly processing Marriott rewards points. In addition, the MR member should get some bonus points added to their accounts as an "I'm sorry" award. If the properties had to pay for their mistakes, I'd bet they would make a lot fewer of them!
Yeah, but then we'd have to chase the 'bonus' points .
I'll gladly make a few phone calls for some "bonus" points. However, my guess is that once a property starts paying penalties for non-compliance with the rules they would clean up their act fast and we wouldn't have to worry about chasing anything, except perhaps for the occasional rainbow!
Great idea mustanggt. The property should be required to refund 30% of the nightly rate the guest paid to their form of payment....yet how would that be enforced? It would almost require a special department to track ALL missing stays and bill the property directly and refund the guests.
There are some excellent minds here on MRI who can figure this out real fast, so lets DO IT!!!!!
