With the travel and vacation packages - are the points required for two people or per person? If for one person can you add another person to the package by 'buying' more airmiles? Thx
You can transfer the number of airline miles to a single account only. To buy additional miles you will have to go through your airline not marriott.
The points deducted from your Marriott account, as stated, go into your airline account and then you will know how many miles you need for each person. In many cases, you can log on to the airline and see how many miles needed for your particular trip and then get your vacation package to match your needs. The vacation points at the hotel are based on an occupancy (usually) of 2. if you a have third guest, it may require more points.
Also, if you need more miles for the airline you can (provided you have enough Marriott points) transfer enough miles to meet your particular trip requirements.
Once you use your Marriott points to get the hotel+air package, you are receiving each part of the package separately. The airline miles that are deposited into your account and the Marriott certificate you receive from the hotel+air package are mutually exclusive. Once you receive the airline miles in your frequent flyer account, you can use them at any point you want for any redemption you want. You can use the Marriott hotel+air certificate at a completely separate time, for a completely separate trip if you want. You simply get airline miles deposited in your account like it was any other transaction you earn miles from, to use how you wish!
