Sheraton Clubs or Lounges versus Marriott

Last week I stayed 3 nights in the Sheraton San Jose.  It's an older property that is equivalent to the Marriott branded hotels I have stayed in. The property consists of suites in 3 story buildings that surround the pool and a 9 story tower.  I was upgraded to a suite which was nice.  However, the club is in the tower on the 9th floor and somewhat inconvenient.  The club is very small and dark.  The breakfast selections were very limited.  Eggs were not offered every day.  No bacon, sausage, etc.  The power went out one morning when someone used the toaster.

I have also recently stayed in the Sheraton Austin.  Similar experience with the club there.  Did not get upgraded there.

Clubs in Marriott branded hotels are fairly consistent and significantly better than these two recent experiences.  I am going to continue to try Sheraton properties.  Wondering if my experiences are typical or if I just have hit two outliers.
