Where are you, Non-Bob? ... Marriott at the University of Dayton, OH
And what's the lounge like? Quite nice. Top floor of the hotel. Roomy, though not large. Breakfast can be a little crowded during peak hours
How's the evening food? Decent. Carrot sticks and assorted raw vegetables, cheese, crackers, and a warm entree Easy to make a meal if you want. Not a big meal, but you could get by.
Any free alcohol? Nope. US lounges don't offer free booze, though there is an honor bar.
What are the hours?
- Monday - Thursday 6am - 10pm
- Friday 6am - 12pm and 5pm - 9pm
- Saturday 7am - 10am and 5pm-9pm
- Sunday 7am - 10am and 5pm - 10pm
Breakfast 7 days a week until 9:30am (10am on weekends) and hors d'oeuvers daily from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. The door card reader is disabled when the lounge is closed, so no sneaking in for a bottle of water.
Are they being meanies and closing the lounge on weekends? No, but if you come during off hours, the door will be locked.
How about Gold/Platinum breakfast? Typical CL fare. Eggs, bacon or sausage, oatmeal, fruit, cold cereal. Nothing fancy, but the fare does not disappoint.
Upgrades? Maybe. Got a room at the end of the hall on the top floor, though it was not a suite.
Late checkout? Didn't need it, but it was available.
Comments... Good effort by the Marriott at the University of Dayton. Hey, did I mention this is a category 5 property? Good place to use one of the certificates.
So, I'm in the concierge lounge at the Marriott at the University of Dayton and while it's nothing special, it's fine. 3/5
