I recently had to stay at a Westin and didn't know if those night and points count towards my status with Marriott rewards.
Hello fellow Virginian ,
SPG and Marriott Rewards are still two different programs, so SPG nights will not count towards my Marriott nights, they still count separately.
Since you already completed one stay with SPG, make sure you sign up for the great weeks promotion. You will earn double Starpoints beginning on your second stay and additional 500 bonus Starpoints on weekend stays
Starwood Preferred Guest :: SPG Great Weeks, Grand Weekends.
Also there's another special Member Exclusive offer for select SPG members right now.
Check to see if you are targeted for an offer-----> Starwood Preferred Guest | Registration
If you haven't signed up for SPG at all, that one Westin stay would not count in either program, but you probably could get SPG to retroactively credit that stay for you.
Hello, to report a Missing Stay just follow the steps on this link: Starwood Hotels & Resorts
(To request missing stay or night credit for Free Night Award and Cash & Point Award stays, or to send additional details for review, email details to firstname.lastname@example.org.)
dirk if you haven’t already done so, enroll in the SPG program, making sure your name & other info exactly matches your Marriott account, then link the two accounts. You will get status match with both programs, so if you are Platinum in one program & a general member at the other, you’ll instantly get platinum benefits at both, for example!
For the remainder of the year (or until further notice) add your SPG account to future Starwood stays & add your Marriott Rewards account to upcoming Marriott stays. You can slide points back & forth (for redemptions) between your linked accounts at a ratio of 3 Marriott points to 1 Starpoint (For instance you can transfer 6000 Marriott Rewards points to your Starwood account, which will convert to 2000 Starpoints)
Good luck & have fun
Welcome to Marriott Insiders! It's great to have another fellow wahoo on the site. As the others have recommended you should definitely sign up for SPG if you haven't done so already and link your accounts. As verysuiteboy mentioned you can transfer points from back and forth between Marriott and SPG at a ratio of 3:1. Keep in mind that transferred points between the two programs do not count towards elite status but if you have elite status in one program it will be recognized in the other program. The two programs are expected to merge together into one later this year but until then they are now treated as separate rewards programs.
