I plan approximately 15 events annually and terribly disappointed at this year by event managers across the various Marriott Brands. It seems that much of this is due to the fact that they cannot keep their best event managers.
Pooks Hill Marriott- Very Good approximately 300 attendees
Philadelphia Marriott West- Disputing Charges now, charged for individual beverages that were included in break.
Renaissance Woodbridge, NJ- Excellent event and facility, flawless
Long Island Marriott- Banquet Manager Juan is a must for your event! Restaurant at hotel is not great if you need to feed your group outside of event.
Trumbull Marriott- Great planning process and communication with manager but the day of event it was if we never had a floor plan. They pulled it together without much trouble. We will definitely continue to work with this hotel.
Boston Quincy Marriott- Event services are great however traveling with a large group by bus, I need to feed 20 people. The restaurant cannot handle this size group and has terrible management. I contacted the new hotel General Manager the next morning and feel confident the issues will be addressed but it is the second year with the same issue. Not sure we can return to this location.
Courtyard Concord, NH-It's difficult to find hotels in the area and the conference area is showing its need for remodeling which is currently being done. The food is amazing and people are kind. Staff at this location are great but you will not get points for any events held here.
Renaissance Atlanta Midtown- Our event was moved at last minute and they tried to separate our event on two floors. Once we explained that was not conducive to our business they squeezed us into a space. We of course were not please but made it work. This was due to a lack of communication and last minute event manager change.
Houston Marriott West Loop-nice hotel and conference facilities, no issues with planning but traffic is an issue to be considered when selecting this location.
Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum-THE WORST!!! We are return customers and love the event manager but this year was a major FAIL!!!! Upon arriving there were tables for another event directly where our table registration was to be set up. It was moved, but the event down the hall was about to start and required tickets. We were assured by the event manager and hotel manager it would not interfere with our event. The line to the other event completely blocked our registration table, parking was full and the event was so loud it disrupted our event and presenters. The whole situation was terribly frustrating and both the event and hotel manager seemed to have no control over the situation. While our event was smaller, we should have been an equally valuable customer. This had been an issue four years ago and it had been made clear this was not an acceptable situation. Event managers overbooked this evening. I will attach photos though you can't see our table and neither could our registered guests.
