Which Renaissance in Barcelona Spain?
If you are looking to be near the center of Barcelona, then the Renaissance Barcelona hotel is the key. It is within easy walking distance to the city center and many attractions. Has a wonderful rooftop bar area that overlooks the city and is perfect for the evening hours. Stayed her last August and we have nothing but positive things to say.
Stayed last October and I second all that mrsp1030 writes. Excellent location, not exceptionally fancy (it struck me as more like a full service business property) but gets the job well done.
Here is some info on the Renaissance Fira. It looks like a very nice hotel, although not as centrally located. Even so, it sounds like public transit is quick and easy to use. Barcelona Renaissance Fira
Thank you for the inputs. I will look at that booking the next time I'm heading that direction.
I (with my family) stayed at the Renaissance Barcelona Fira. It is located about 6 miles from the city center. We were there in July and it was very warm every day. On the top of this hotel, they have rooftop bar and swimming pool with spectacular views of Barcelona and the region. Although, it is nice to be downtown, we found this hotel to be funky (all white rooms and all black rooms) and comfortable rooms with plenty of space. It was on a commuter train line (literally outside the hotel entrance) that had a regular schedule to downtown and you could buy a Metro card that worked on all of the transportation systems. The train ride took about 15 minutes to get downtown and staying out late (July) was not an issue at all. Sunset did not occur until the 9:00 pm range, so getting around was easy. I found this hotel to be diamond in the ruff and we had wonderful time in Barcelona and the hotel staff was very helpful. One tour that we took was a bike ride that provided a great overview of Barcelona and helped us determine what we wanted to do and see.
